The Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager Ray Shero
has been named as Associate General Manager of the United States Olympic hockey
team, along with Penguins’ coach Dan Bylsma being named as the team’s head
coach.
Pittsburgh will be represented at the 2014 Sochi
Winter Olympics, not just on the ice, but behind the bench, and from up in the
boxes.
Ray Shero will be serving behind David Poile, the
General Manger for the Nashville Predators, as he is expected to be named the
team’s general manager.
Poile and Shero are not strangers, since Shero served
with the Predators for eight years, under Poile.
The official announcements have not been made, but
will happen in New York on Saturday.
Congratulations to both Ray Shero and Dan Blysma. They
deserve to be recognized for their hard work and should make the United States
proud. The gold medal is starting to look promising for the United States.
