The Pens visit the Devils and look to extend their streak to eleven games! They are tied with Boston with the longest NHL streak this season at ten games!
Pens record is 43-21-5 and are 4th in the Eastern Conference looking to overtake the Rangers. The Devils are 41-25-5 and 6th in the Eastern Conference and are only two points away from tying the Flyers for 5th place.
The top PK units will meet tonight. The Devils with the first ranked PK (89.7%) with a closely followed the Pens PK unit (89.4%).
Look for Kovalchuk to lift his team in that department. Gifted player seems to always find a way to score.
Brodeur will be in the net for the Devils today. He is 4-1 in his last five starts and got his 2nd shutout during that time. His has 26 wins this year and a .961 save percentage.
However the Pens are not without their own in the talent department. With Sid and Tanger finally back the team is a force to be reckoned with.
Tanger will be big on the defense for the Pens to keep the Devils offense at bay and struggling. His lodged 24:22 in ice time last game and a +5 rating.
Flower will have to keep the Devils from getting any momentum. His has won nine straight games in his last fourteen games, but officially it is eight games since he came in to relive another. His is second in wins with 38 games with Rinne in first with 39 games.
Asham will not play and Tangradi will take his place instead.
Injuries:
Devils
Henrik Tallinder with a acute thrombophlebitis of the lower leg
Travis Zajac with a sore Achilles heel
Pens
Johnny with undisclosed injury
Asham with an illness and will not play in today's game.
Nice to see that injury list for the Pens with only one. Hopefully Johnny will come back soon and we will have a full healthy roster!
LETS GO PENS! EXTEND THE STREAK TO 11!
